How Healthy Are Your Desires???

"Let me ask you a question?"

Silence was the instrumental sound playing in the room

among the soldiers when the commander spoke.

"How healthy are your desires?"

The soldiers responded :

"Healthy as our focus on your question commander."

"Wrong."

The commander yelled out.

Then proceeds to mention:

"Our desires are as healthy as staying in the present moment."

All the soldiers began nodding their heads in a synchronized fashion.

Watching this film. I began to understand the assignment:

Scriptures remind us that daydreaming is pointless just like having a business with no marketing noted in Ecclesiastes 5:7.

Our desires often come from influenced by cares of the world displayed

 in Matthew 16:26.

Not to forget our very own human nature discussed

in Galatians 5:17.

Moral lesson time :

There was a gentile convert of The Way name

Demas

(whose name means worldly or of the world)

He was intrigued by this new righteous lifestyle-

Philemon 1:24 & Colossians 4:14.

Sadly his desires was still lingering in his old worldly ways and went back into the world betraying Saul - 2 Timothy 4:10.

Why would Demas give up this ultimate blessing of being in the first resurrection to be reunited with many of the faithful from the

ancient of days???

The truth is we don't why but we can know what caused it...

What causes many like Demas to go back is a lack of conviction as mentioned in Hebrews 11:1 & Romans 8:18.

Let us remember that individuals written in Scriptures were exposed to us for learning what to do and not do so we don't repeat history or the past

- Romans 15:4 & 1 John 2:18-19.

So are desires can be healthy by staying present with

Omnipresent Creator!!!
